At Seeking Wellness, our holistic approach integrates massage therapy and yoga to strengthen the mind/body connection and help you work through your challenges with positive touch and movement. Let’s get moving.

Massage & Yoga Are For Everyone

CAROLYN HAZEL, YOGA & MASSAGE THERAPIST

Welcome! Before we go any further, I want you to know that nothing about your body should hold you back from massage therapy or yoga. You are beautiful and your body deserves to feel its best. My name is Carolyn Hazel and I’ve been a massage therapist for 10 years and a yoga instructor for over two decades. All body types, no matter your age or level of fitness, flexibility or mobility, can take part in therapeutic movement. My goal is to make you feel comfortable, nurtured and cared for at all times. What matters is how you feel, not how you look. And no matter your starting point, both practices can help you feel - and move - better over time.

WHAT WE OFFER

What is Massage Therapy?

Massage services ending May 31: Seeking Wellness will no longer provide massage services after May 31, 2026. All current appointments and gift card/raffle sessions will be honored.

Massage therapy is a form of bodywork that involves manual manipulation of the soft tissue of the body, including muscles, tendons, ligaments and skin. It can be used as a tool to manage pain and discomfort in muscles and joints as well as stimulating the parasympathetic nervous system, helping to reduce stress, anxiety and promoting relaxation. It’s also beneficial for increasing circulation and mobility. Massage is considered a complementary and alternative therapy, meaning it can be beneficial in combination with other therapies.

WHAT WE OFFER

What is Therapeutic Yoga?

Most folks know what yoga is, but therapeutic yoga is a little different. I teach yoga with a therapeutic focus, meaning I concentrate on safe body alignment and giving students the space to practice where they are and with the body they have that day. It is inclusive to all body types, shapes and sizes. A regular yoga practice is beneficial for building strength as well as increasing flexibility. It's low impact, making it accessible for all ages and fitness levels. Yoga helps to improve body awareness and your connection to your body - good for bone and joint health, mobility, circulation. And like massage, it stimulates the parasympathetic nervous system to promote calm and relaxation. The practice includes body movements and breath awareness.

What to Expect

In this class, we move beyond the "rush" of daily life. With 75 minutes, we have the space to focus on proper alignment, mindful breathing, and deep relaxation without feeling hurried.

  • Mindful Warm-up: We begin with gentle movements to wake up the joints and settle the mind.

  • The Foundation: We explore classic standing and seated postures (asanas), focusing on building strength, flexibility, and balance.

  • Breathwork (Pranayama): Learn simple breathing techniques to calm the nervous system and increase energy.

  • Extended Savasana: Every class concludes with a restorative final relaxation, leaving you feeling grounded and refreshed.

Is this for me?

Perfect if: You are a total beginner, want to improve your posture, or simply prefer a slower-paced class that explains the "why" behind the movements.

What to bring: Comfortable clothing, a water bottle, and an open mind. Mats and props are provided (or feel free to bring your own!).

"Yoga is not about touching your toes; it’s about what you learn on the way down."
