RHYTHMIC HEALING

Drumming Groups

Beginning in March, Seeking Wellness is launching a free pilot program for kids and adults using therapeutic drumming. Drumming is an ancient method of therapy that uses the natural power of rhythm and sound to promote healing and self-expression. Drumming groups are an evidence-based holistic approach that help reduce stress, strengthen the mind/body connection and build community through the joy of creating music.

Express Yourself Through Drums

Many people struggle to express themselves verbally through traditional talk therapy. Therapeutic group drumming is an evidence-based alternative that is physically engaging, culturally inclusive, and so much more. Think of it like active meditation. Research has shown drumming can help with emotional regulation, enhance social connection, improve self-expression and confidence, reduce stress and anxiety, improve immune response and increase mindfulness and focus. Skills developed in group drumming include teamwork, listening, and empathy.

WHAT TO EXPECT

Free Pilot Program for Adults and Children Begins March 2nd

Seeking Wellness is launching a pilot program for both kids and adults to gauge interest in therapeutic drumming groups. The first four sessions listed below are offered free of charge. No experience or equipment is needed. We hope you can join us!

  • We offer 4 free sessions during the pilot program period:

    K–5th grade: March 2, 2026, 5:30–6:30 p.m.

    6–12th grade: March 9, 7-8 p.m.

    Adults only: March 16, 7–8 p.m.

    Families: March 23, 5:30–6:30 p.m.

  • No, not in the traditional sense. The groups are therapeutic in nature, but participants do not discuss personal stories. Instead, we take pauses in the drumming to process thoughts and feelings that might up throughout the session.
