RHYTHMIC HEALING

Drumming Groups

Drumming is an ancient method of therapy that uses the natural power of rhythm and sound to promote healing and self-expression. Drumming groups are an evidence-based holistic approach that help reduce stress, strengthen the mind/body connection and build community through the joy of creating music. Drumming groups have not yet been scheduled for 2026, but please fill out the form below to let us know if you are interested.

Express Yourself Through Drums

Many people struggle to express themselves verbally through traditional talk therapy. Therapeutic group drumming is an evidence-based alternative that is physically engaging, culturally inclusive, and so much more. Think of it like active meditation. Research has shown drumming can help with emotional regulation, enhance social connection, improve self-expression and confidence, reduce stress and anxiety, improve immune response and increase mindfulness and focus. Skills developed in group drumming include teamwork, listening, and empathy.

WHAT TO EXPECT

Is Drumming Therapy?

The groups are therapeutic in nature, but participants do not discuss personal stories as in a traditional group setting. Instead, we take pauses in the drumming to process thoughts and feelings that might up throughout the session.
