BUILDING A VILLAGE FOR NEW MOMS

Postpartum Support

Bringing home a new baby completely changes your life. It can be a thrilling, joyful and fulfilling time. But it can also be isolating, confusing and stressful. Whether you have a large support system or are on your own, many new moms find themselves struggling to manage their new role and the expectations that come with it. If that sounds like you, you are not alone. At Seeking Wellness, we want to help you build a village of new moms just like you, where you can learn skills, get real support, and be seen, heard and understood together. We’re here for you.

KRYSTEN GARRETT, LPC

Groups Begin February 25, 2026

Welcome! My name is Krysten Garrett and I’m a licensed professional counselor here at Seeking Wellness. When I had my first child a few years ago, I found myself struggling to meet and meaningfully connect with other new moms. Family, friends and partners can all provide key support, but being a new mother can also be stressful, isolating and lonely without people around who truly understand what you’re going through. I created the Postpartum Support Group for new moms to talk about the complex issues and emotions they’re dealing with, learn skills, and build the village we all need. If this sounds like something that would be helpful as you begin your parenting journey, I encourage you to fill out our interest form. You are not alone.

NAVIGATING NEW MOTHERHOOD

Who is the Group For?

You’ve arrived home with your wonderful little bundle of joy. So why don't you feel wonderful? Maybe you feel like you’re drowning in laundry, dishes, and ever-growing to-do lists. Maybe your relationships have shifted in ways you didn’t anticipate. Maybe the “baby blues” are more intense than you expected and you’re wondering if it's something more serious. It’s normal to feel overwhelmed, unprepared, and flat-out exhausted during this new phase of your life, while others may be pressuring you to “enjoy every minute!” It’s also normal to need help and support managing the rollercoaster of emotions that come with being a new parent. The Postpartum Support Group exists to connect moms just like you to help navigate new motherhood.

HOW IT WORKS

Share, Learn and Connect

The Postpartum Support Group is for moms of babies 2 years old and younger. The main goal is to provide an outlet for moms to come together and discuss their challenges in safe, welcoming and supportive environment. A licensed therapist will guide each session and offer education on stress management, communication skills with partners/other caregivers, discuss symptoms of common perinatal mental health concerns and offer other help adjusting to your new role.

  • Every other Wednesday from 9:30-11 a.m. starting on Feb. 25. Groups are open, meaning there is no specific end date and participants can join and leave at any time.

  • This is not a traditional therapy group but an education and support group and is therefore not covered by insurance. Sessions are $50.

  • Babies are absolutely welcome as long as they are non-mobile. We want to keep the focus on moms.
