He/Him
I’m no different from the clients I see. Like everyone else, I'm human. I've been through both wonderful and difficult experiences that have shaped who I am and how I help. As a Licensed Professional Counselor (LPC) who works with adults who have ongoing challenges with depression, anxiety, and trauma, especially racial trauma. My goal is to help you stop feeling overwhelmed and depressed and encourage you to see healing and transformation.
Outside of work you’ll find me cooking, jumping between all my different hobbies, and singing whatever recently remembered song from the 90s and 00s on repeat. (Truthfully, you’ll probably catch me singing in the office too.) In all these areas, connecting with people is my true passion. Being a therapist is an honor, and I love helping people become healthier and watching them create the life they love. Please call and connect today, so we can do the same for you.

She/Her
I’m a lifelong Virginia resident who moved to Roanoke in 2015. After work, you will most likely find me enjoying a book (I love speculative fiction and fantasy), working on an embroidery project, or tending to my plants. I also enjoy tabletop games, and have been playing Dungeons and Dragons with friends for years.
Working as a Licensed Professional Counselor (LPC) and Certified Substance Abuse Counselor, I am committed to providing a safe space for individuals from diverse backgrounds and life experiences. I approach therapy from a strengths-based and trauma-informed perspective, asking "What happened to you" rather than "What's wrong with you?" After we meet, I want you to feel not only seen and heard, but also that you have the tools to immediately begin feeling better. Asking for help takes courage, but you’ve already made the first step. Let’s keep going. Visit our "Contact" link to schedule an appointment. I look forward to working with you!

She/Her
As a yoga and massage therapist and a clinical aromatherapist, my approach is centered on a holistic view of health and wellness. My practice is built on the belief that you have more control over your well-being than you may realize.
I understand that your life – your work, family and physical health – all play a role in how you feel. My goal is to honor this powerful mind-body connection.
Whether through therapeutic massage or the gentle movement of yoga, I address physical imbalances to intentionally activate your parasympathetic nervous system – your body’s “rest and digest “state. This allows your body to return to a regulated state, promoting healing and empowering you with the tools to help find lasting balance and a sense of calm in your daily life.
When I’m not in my massage room, you’ll most likely find me enjoying time with family and being outside. I enjoy reading, listening to music and going to the gym. I am also currently in graduate school, working toward my Master’s in Social
Work with a focus on aging studies. My goal is to become an LCSW, further expanding my ability to support the emotional and mental well-being of my community.

They/Them
If you’re here, you might feel as if you’ve already tried everything to stop feeling “bad.” As a licensed clinical psychologist and a nonbinary person, I blend psychological science with an understanding that you are the expert on your own mind and experiences. In one-on-one sessions, I will work with you to embrace your goals and develop skills to move toward a life worth living. Therapy can be a powerful place to claim our unique identities and build on our strengths, giving us the tools we need to navigate a complex world.
Additionally, I offer assessments for adults who may have ADHD, autism, or who need an evaluation for readiness for gender-affirming care. If you are prepared to start on a path toward gaining a deeper understanding of yourself and building your most authentic life, then I am ready to help.
When I’m not in the office, you can usually find me hanging out with one or more of my favorite beings: my partner; our sweet, old, blind dog; our three tiny, criminal cats. Free time is usually spent playing video games or board games, hunched over my sewing machine, curled up with some tea and a book, or begging my cats to PLEASE stop eating my houseplants.

He/Him
I often describe myself as a School Counselor Extraordinaire based on my vast experience as a licensed school counselor, educator, and supervisor. After graduating in May 2024 from Virginia Tech with a PhD in Counselor Education and Supervision, I will be transitioning to SUNY Buffalo, where I will be serving as an Assistant Professor, training aspiring school counselors. My scholarship aims to explore creative, innovative, and developmentally appropriate approaches to counseling. As a self-identified gamer, I am most interested in investigating ways in which aspects of gaming culture can be incorporated into clinical practices.
At Seeking Wellness, my role is two-fold. I am happy to virtually consult with any parents/caretakers who are feeling stuck with their student's K-12 education. Whether this involves 1) developing a tailored program of study considering your students' postsecondary interests, strengths, and school offerings; 2) confronting academic challenges and introducing study skills; 3) school-based mental health advice or strategies; or 4) other, general school-related concerns. As a consultant, I am happy to demystify anxieties surrounding school for you and your student(s).
Additionally, I am excited to serve as the Project Director for therapeutic gaming at Seeking Wellness. My goal is to identify effective practices involving video game play that foster social/emotional development with youth. We have been awarded a grant to conduct research related to gaming culture in counseling settings.

I am a warm and empathetic pre-licensed clinician. I know that at times life can feel like something to survive but I want to help my clients thrive. My clients often describe feeling overwhelmed, stressed, and wondering how to find balance in their lives. If you feel stuck making a decision, are experiencing difficulty navigating relationships, or perhaps you are struggling with your self-image, then get connected today, and let's explore these things together. You are not alone. Let's work together to boost your satisfaction and confidence. We'll dive into the tough stuff you've been through, break it down, and turn those challenges into strengths, so they don't hold you back anymore. I have experience with treating trauma using forward-facing trauma therapy and art as tools for healing. I work with those seeking to explore their racial and ethnic identities to heal from racial, assimilation, and relational traumas. I also provide therapy to couples and families seeking to strengthen their relationships.
In my free time, I love speculative fiction, sketch comedy, listening to bosa nova, cooking new dishes with friends, and throwing pottery (even if it's been hours and I have no new piece to show for the day).

As a pre-licensed clinician and a Black man, I have a passion for helping people of color navigate life's challenges. From navigating break ups, to exploring one's life purpose, I am committed to creating an open and comfortable space for my clients to find answers to life's big questions. Life can be confusing and challenging, I am here to help you make sense of things and build a better relationship with yourself.
Outside of work you'll usually find me exploring the city with my wife or hanging out with our two cats. Otherwise I enjoy reading fantasy novels, playing video-games and Dungeons and Dragons, hiking, or exploring new restaurants.

Like many of the people I work with, I know what it’s like to navigate life’s ups and downs. I believe that healing happens in connection, and I strive to create a space where you can show up fully without judgment, pressure, or the need to have it all figured out. I work with teens and
adults who are navigating life transitions, the impacts of trauma, relationship challenges, and identity exploration. My approach is collaborative and affirming. I don’t believe in one-size-fits-all therapy, so we’ll work together to figure out what feels right for you and what healing looks like on your terms.
When I’m not in session, you’ll probably find me exploring the outdoors, reading far too many romance books at once, playing board games, doing puzzles, or caring for my plants. I enjoy spending time with my loved ones and occasionally taking my cat on hikes. I value authenticity, creativity, and laughter, and you’ll find all of those showing up in our work together, too.

He/Him
Hi! I’m Chris Garcia, LCSW. I’m originally from New Jersey and am now proud to call Southwest Virginia home. In true New Jersey fashion I received my bachelor’s degree and Masters in Social Work from Rutgers University (Go Scarlet Knights!).
Throughout my career, I’ve worked in a variety of settings, beginning with homeless outreach in NYC, where I had the privilege of serving some of the city’s most vulnerable populations. For several years after, I worked in a women’s mental health shelter where I honed my skills in trauma-informed care to support women through significant life challenges. These experiences shaped my approach to therapy, emphasizing the importance of empathy, trust, and collaboration.
I have extensive experience helping individuals navigate a range of challenges, including substance use disorder (SUD), PTSD, anxiety, depression, chronic pain, and addiction. With a deep commitment to fostering healing and growth, I strive to provide a compassionate, warm, and welcoming environment where my clients feel heard, understood, and supported.
Outside of therapy, I’ve been playing drums for over 20 years, and I bring that creative energy into my work. I’m here to support you through life’s challenges and help you find your path to growth and healing.

Is your child having big feelings and isn't sure what to do with them? Play can be a powerful option to help your child work through these feelings and build confidence! As a pre-licensed counselor, I'm passionate about helping my clients find their voice and help the misunderstood feel seen and validated. Using play, creativity, and proven therapeutic approaches, I guide children toward healing and growth.
While my practice is centered on supporting children, I also work with adults navigating life's challenges, especially trauma, stress, and addiction. My goal is always to provide consistency, encouragement, and a safe environment - whether I'm meeting with a child, a caregiver, or an adult seeking their own healing. I especially enjoy supporting neurodivergent individuals, celebrating their unique strengths and creating therapy that meets their needs in flexible, affirming ways.
I use holistic and somatic approaches like breathwork, mindfulness, drumming, art, and play to help individuals express themselves and work toward healing. I also bring in specialized techniques which can gently help with moving past difficult and overwhelming experiences and traumas. There is a way forward, and healing is possible. I would love to hear from you and help support you through these feelings to find peace and relief.

I know starting therapy can be overwhelming, and I’m here to make the journey as comfortable and safe as possible. I take a holistic approach, recognizing how our environment, history, family, and life context influence our well-being. My therapeutic approach is trauma-informed, integrating a range of traditional and nontraditional methods. Therapy is a partnership, and I tailor my approach to each person to ensure you feel heard, understood, and supported.
I often work with individuals seeking to improve relationships—whether with themselves, partners, family, or friends. I'm particularly passionate about working through acceptance, boundary setting, life or role transitions, or attachment issues. I also support personal journeys as people navigate self-discovery and identity. I have experience working with individuals with disabilities, cognitive impairments, neurodivergence, and traumatic brain injuries, and I am committed to creating accessible and supportive services for everyone.
Outside work, I love spending time outdoors—hiking, exploring nature, gardening, or soaking in the sun. Indoors, you’ll often find me playing board games or video games, reading, watching sitcoms, building models, or solving puzzles.
I am honored to hold a sacred, healing space to help others find inner peace and define what a meaningful life looks like for them. Please visit our 'Contact' page to schedule an appointment, and let’s begin this journey together.
