BUILD COMMUNITY BASED ON YOUR IDENTITY

Affinity Groups

Affinity groups are made up of people like you. Whether you’re linked by race, gender identity, sexual orientation, social class or some other factor, these groups aim to help you process feelings, connect, strategize, and heal with people who are experiencing life - and are seen by others - the same way you are. You’re not alone.

RACIAL AFFINITY GROUPS

Shared Experiences, Shared Growth

Seeking Wellness hosts affinity groups specifically crafted to address your experience with race. These sessions aren’t group therapy in the traditional sense, but offer a therapeutic space to explore and overcome race-based trauma and uplift folks negatively affected by racism. We offer groups for both People of Color and White members of our community.

  • This group aims to help you connect with other People of Color to help each other process and overcome race-based trauma. Learn strategies to challenge racism and how to uplift one another.

    Meets Mondays from 6-8 p.m.

  • Work to become a White ally to People of Color in your community. In this group you will learn to identify internal and external racism and how to challenge that racism using anti-racist principles at home, work and in social settings.

    Meets Mondays. 6-8 p.m.

What about non-race based groups?

While we are beginning with race-based affinity groups, we don’t intend to stop there. If you or someone you know would be interested in affinity groups for gender identity, sexual orientation, social class, mental, physical, or emotional ability or disability, or other identities or experiences please let us know!

We hope to add these groups in the coming months.
