LICENSED CLINICAL SOCIAL WORKERShe/Her
Childhood can leave many wounds and create survival skills and beliefs about ourselves, others, and the world that may no longer be helpful. Sometimes this manifests as emotional flashbacks and toxic self-shame which can obliterate self-esteem. This creates a loud inner and outer critic; without skills to manage these critics, we develop insufficient self-compassion and insufficient self-protection. Therapy can be a means of relational healing to gain those back and more. Therapy can also be a place of mourning what we lost and may never have had.
Addiction creates isolation, shame and a loss of control. Addiction can create a sense of powerlessness and hopelessness. Recovery takes on many forms and brings back hope within relationships and the creation of new ways to live. Recovery takes consistency, effort and a network of support. I have over 13 years of experience in the mental health and substance use field providing psychotherapy. I also have experience working with people with depression, anxiety and Complex PTSD, legal issues, veterans and first responders. My background enables me to be an effective therapist who is comfortable providing services for diverse groups of people. I apply a variety of interventions such as EMDR, Grief and Loss reconstruction and parts work to develop a tailored approach for each individual and situation.
As a therapist, I am warm, genuine, authentic, open, encouraging, and above all nonjudgmental.
On a personal level I understand the complexities of addiction, Complex PTSD and recovery.
This has shaped how I incorporate my experience, education, creativity, and humor to provide realistic therapy approaches. My passion is to be part of someone’s journey from PTSD, anxiety, depression or addiction to recovery and healing one step at a time.
